Assistance is intended for people affected by qualifying fire-related emergencies, subject to eligibility review and available resources.
Burn survivors
Individuals of any age recovering from a burn injury caused by a qualifying fire-related emergency.
Fire-displaced families
Households displaced by a residential, apartment, or vehicle fire who have lost essential belongings.
First responders
Firefighters and other responders affected by a qualifying fire-related emergency.
Children and teens
Age-appropriate essentials and comfort items for the youngest members of an affected household.
The Recovery Box Program
The Recovery Box Program is Engine of Hope's signature launch program and is currently being developed for initial service in South Carolina. Each approved Recovery Box is assembled around the recipient's age and verified needs, and is provided at no cost.
- Baby — ages 0–3
- Child — ages 4–12
- Teen — ages 13–17
- Adult — ages 18+
- Family — household support
- Burn Survivor — additional specialized support
Medical or specialized recovery items are included only when properly verified and approved based on medical guidance.
What the request process looks like.
Engine of Hope is not an emergency-response agency. If you are in danger or need emergency medical care, call 911.
1. Submit a request
Complete the Request Assistance form with details about the incident and what the household needs.
2. Review
Our team reviews eligibility and verified need. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval or assistance.
3. Build
Approved requests are matched to an age-appropriate Recovery Box based on available inventory.
4. Delivery or shipping
Approved boxes may be delivered locally or shipped to a trusted address depending on location, inventory, volunteer capacity, and recipient needs.
