This policy describes how Engine of Hope handles information submitted through this website.

Engine of Hope is a South Carolina nonprofit corporation. Our application for recognition of federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) is pending with the IRS.

Information we collect

We collect only the information you choose to submit through our forms, which may include:

  • Contact details such as your name, email address, mailing or delivery address, and phone number if you provide one
  • Information you provide in an assistance request, including details about the incident, household needs, and any documents or photos you upload
  • Volunteer or partnership application details
  • Donation details processed by our payment provider

How we use information

Information submitted through an assistance request is used only to review and coordinate the request, provide necessary case updates, maintain required records, and protect program integrity. Volunteer and partnership information is used to evaluate and follow up on your interest. Contact form messages are used to respond to your inquiry.

Payment information

Donation payments are processed by Stripe. Engine of Hope does not receive or store full payment card numbers. Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with people and service providers who need it to operate our programs and this website, or where required by law.

Uploaded documents

Files you upload with an assistance request are stored in private storage and are not publicly accessible. Reviewers access them through time-limited links.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, or withdraw a request, by emailing help@engineofhope.org. Some records may be retained where necessary for recordkeeping.

Engine of Hope does not currently operate a public assistance phone line. Please use the Request Assistance form or email help@engineofhope.org. Requests are reviewed as promptly as possible, but response times and assistance cannot be guaranteed.
