How do I request assistance after a fire?

Use the Request Assistance form on this website, or email help@engineofhope.org. Engine of Hope does not currently operate a public assistance phone line. Requests are reviewed as promptly as possible, but response times and assistance cannot be guaranteed.

Is Engine of Hope an emergency service?

No. Engine of Hope is not an emergency-response agency. If you are in danger or need emergency medical care, call 911.

What is in a Recovery Box?

Contents depend on verified need and available inventory, and are matched to the recipient's age category. Boxes generally focus on essential and comfort items. Medical or specialized recovery items are included only when properly verified and approved based on medical guidance.

Does submitting a request guarantee assistance?

No. Assistance depends on eligibility, verified need, location, inventory, funding, and available resources. When direct assistance is unavailable, we may provide referrals to other resources.

Is Engine of Hope a 501(c)(3)?

Engine of Hope is a South Carolina nonprofit corporation. Our application for recognition of federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) is pending with the IRS.

Can I donate right now?

Public fundraising has not opened yet. Our donation system is still being prepared, and no public contributions are being collected. Federal tax-exempt recognition is currently pending, so donation receipts will acknowledge contributions but will not guarantee tax deductibility.

How do I become a volunteer?

Complete the application on our Volunteer page. Applications are being accepted for future opportunities as we prepare for program launch. Applying does not guarantee immediate placement, and some roles may require screening, background checks, training, and supervision.

We welcome conversations with fire departments, hospitals, burn centers, businesses, and community organizations. Visit our Partnerships page or contact us. No organization is listed as a partner without written permission.
