Children's Assistance Program

Helping Children Heal, Grow, and Hope Again.

Age-appropriate resources, comfort items, and family-centered support for children affected by fire or burn injury — free of charge, made possible by our donors and community partners.

Planned program — in development

The Children's Assistance Program is not operating yet. This page describes what we are designing. Engine of Hope is launching in South Carolina with the Recovery Box Program and emergency resource referrals; additional programs will be introduced as funding, trained volunteers, qualified partners, and proper safeguards become available.

See what is available now

When a child experiences a fire or burn injury, recovery is about much more than physical healing. Losing a favorite toy, school supplies, clothing, or even the feeling of safety can be overwhelming.

The Children's Assistance Program provides age-appropriate resources, comfort items, and family-centered support to help children regain stability and confidence during recovery. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and surrounded by hope.

Services are provided free of charge to eligible children and families through the generosity of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.

How the Program Works

A child-centered process designed around age, needs, and family support.

Step 1

Request or Referral

A parent, guardian, hospital, burn center, fire department, school, social worker, or community partner submits a request.

Step 2

Child Assessment

Our team reviews the child's age, needs, family situation, and available resources to determine the most appropriate support.

Step 3

Personalized Assistance

Engine of Hope provides child-focused resources and connects families with additional community support when available.

Step 4

Continued Encouragement

As recovery continues, we remain available to provide referrals, guidance, and additional support whenever possible.
